The Hollingsworth Companies and Prince George County, Virginia
were asked to compete for an 84,500 square foot BUILD-TO-SUIT
facility solution for Metl Span, a company that manufactures
pre-finished, insulated, metal roof and wall panels.
In
addition to custom bay spacing, pits for specialty fabrication
equipment, enhanced power demands, and many other features,
this company needed to be comfortable that their choice for
a developer would deliver their building on time and within
budget. The Hollingsworth Companies were able to obtain the
necessary permitting and complete site preparation within
weeks, not months, thereby allowing the company to sustain
its project schedule.
The facility was designed around Metl Span's unique automated
manufacturing equipment line and featured overhead cranes,
utility trenching, and special equipment foundations.
Metl Span was the first Mexican-owned company to ever undertake
a new industrial project within the Commonwealth of Virginia
and it is their first U.S. expansion outside the Texas headquarters.
As soon as the agreement was signed, Metl Span immediately
began installation and testing of their manufacturing equipment.
Barely eight months passed from the date that terms were agreed,
until they received their 'Certificate of Occupancy.'
